Nothing like a walk or a bike trip through the forest here near Hilversum/The Netherlands on an early morning hour in September when the air is fresh, the haze softens the colours and a first touch of autumn can clearly been felt. Green, however, still is the colour of the day! All those lovely greens!Taken in RAW and processed with NX2.

Wonderful photo! Brings back childhood memories riding my bike from Huizen to Hilversum where my grandparents lived. Even then I was in awe of the beech trees.

I was born in Holland and lived there until I was 6 (1950-1956). Then we moved to the US. But have been back a few times when I was younger. My father's parents lived in Huizen and my mother's in Laren and then they moved to a flat in Hilversum. I love the area, the heather and beach trees and the people. I used to look for chanterelles in the oak forests. Your photographs are very nostalgic for me. Hopefully I will get to visit the area again. My grandparents are long gone unfortunately.
