Description “No, the ninjas won’t be down here until ten at the latest,” said Mr. Terrific to Steel as he opened up the lab door. “Batman is going to collect them from their rooms and bring them… down… here…”

His voice trailed off. Inside the lab, sitting on every available chair, counter, and suitable computer, were the Konoha 11.

Steel rubbed his chin thoughtfully. “I’m going to have to upgrade the tower’s security.” He nodded.

Picture for this week's chapter of Connecting the Dots, "Division." [link] The ninjas find out what the League's been hiding and go on the run. Our heroes are divided as Luthor and Sasuke make their final big push on the League tower.

I had fun with this picture, which turned out not to be nearly as complicated as I feared. Initially I had a more action-packed scene in mind, but I decided this more accurate conveyed the premise and was plenty interesting in its own way.

It was suggested to me that everyone in this picture should have blue eyes, to clue in that there's something off with them. It's not a bad idea, but I simply didn't have time to implement it.

Huh. You know, I hadn't thought about it, but you're right, that orange sweater makes him look like it. The hair is off, though.

I really like this one, already added it to favorites.

By the way, have you heard about that new Naruto movie, "Road to Ninja"? It has some things in it that remind me of what you had in mind for that Connecting sequel you told me about.

Heard a lot about it, haven't seen anything from it. I'm aware there's a second-dimension Naruto in it, called Menma. Don't know if he's evil, though.

From what I've heard, Tobi uses a trial version of the Genjutsu that will allow him to control the world, and when he tests it on Naruto and company, Naruto gets transported to a world where everybody acts different than they normally do. For example:
Sasuke Uchiha is more of a carefree flirt that goes after several girls his age, a fact that Sakura likes and reciprocates when he flirts with her, but earns himself a beating when attempting to flirt with Hinata herself. In this timeline he never became a missing-nin due to Itachi being a hero of Konoha instead of a villain thus he's still a resident of Konoha.
Sai is more emotive and is more outgoing. His love for art is the same, but is horrible at it. Also, due to the alternate Sasuke still being a resident of Konoha, alternate Sai never became a member of Team 7 nor does he know the others.
Hinata Hyūga is more aggressive, very confident with herself and her figure and she is possessive of Naruto. Like her counterpart, this Hinata is in love with Naruto's alternate counterpart Menma though shows it in a more aggressive manner and jealousy when he hangs out with other women like Sakura, even those who aren't attracted to him.
Neji Hyūga is very immature and a huge pervert who uses his Byakugan to peep on girls constantly, making his personality very similar to Jiraiya, which typically earns him a beating from the alternate Hinata.
Rock Lee doesn't really change except for the fact that he wears women undergarments underneath his green jumpsuit.
Tenten is serious, but not as proficient in handling weapons. Rather she is very clumsy and tends to injure herself as a result.
And many others as well. That Menma character, from what I've heard, is Naruto's counterpart, but I can't find much about his actual personality due to the fact that in the movie, he's an atagtonist due to being merged with Tobi who is controlling his thoughts. I have heard about his history though. His parents are still alive but he still became the jinchūriki of Kurama, the Nine-Tails.
However, given that this was all created by a Genjutsu (which from my understanding is an illusion (not real)) I doubt very much that any of this world actually happened.
What do you think?

Sounds more like a goofy world than a strictly dark one--though Sasuke and Neji seem opposite, and Itachi being a hero is different. I'd picked up that Hinata and Menma were a real thing in the series.

Though... if everyone else has the exact same names, why does Naruto's counterpart suddenly have a different one?

Yeah, it does sound goofy, though I hear that the Naruto creator himself was personally involved in the movie, and that the characters and personalities were a response to the fan portrayals.

Not sure what you mean by "A real thing in the series". Do you mean that the were a couple in the series or that they were real characters that the regular ones interacted with?

I have no idea why Naruto's counterpart has a different name while everyone else's remained the same, but I think there might've a parallel thing going on with that, as Menma is also something that you add to ramen.

Ah, so it's something like a "fan universe," where the goofy fandom things became real. What I meant was that Menma and Hinata were a canon couple of the movie, apparently in reaction to the Naruhina fandom. Interesting. And actually, I imagine Menma's name was just so viewers wouldn't get confused between two Narutos. But in terms of universes, it makes no sense.

I hear you, in terms of universes, it really doesn't make sense. I also heard that the original Naruto was jealous of the fact that his counterpart, Menma, was born and raised and raised by his parents. I haven't seen the movie either, so I don't know if the AU Minato and Kushina were in the movie at all. I mean, if you're going to say that two dead characters are alive in an AU that you're visiting, you have to give at least a glimpse of them, right?

By the way, in case you might've been wondering, I haven't updated my gallery recently because a while back I made a list of all my original characters (a total of 53, including their AU counterparts (mirror and prime universes respectively)). I realized I hadn't gotten to designing them all, so I've been drawing in the sketch book a lot lately and I'm almost done with the list. I haven't included my versions of the god characters because I don't really consider them to MY characters. So anyway, I'm almost done with the character designs and then I'll get to coloring them, and putting them up. Crazy, don't you think?

A little. You don't have to draw out ALL your characters at once, you realize. I still haven't drawn out everyone from my NML series, nor from the one Dragon universe. But I can definitely understand the impulse, and also how much fun it can be, so I wish you the best of luck.

I'm almost through the list. Including the one I'm on, I've got 3 more to go. It won't be long until now! And good luck with your things too.
