Description The "Wood Wose"...Turin is by far my favorite character in The Silmarillion. Positively Shakespearian

That's what I would guess...but he seems like this would be a common expression for him to wear!

Amazing picture.... I love Turin too but Beleg is my favorite... and their relationship didn't end well :/

No doubt...I'll do a Beleg/Turin team up pic in the near future! Hurin's my fave, but Turin's tragedy is really compelling. Thank you!

Ooh yes please, a Beleg/Turin picture would be awesome! I will be waiting to admire it
I understand why Hurin is your fave... his story is desperately sad and he's a noble character who falls into ruin through no fault of his own.

Yep...and he handles all the hardship so stoically...and avenges (kind of) his son by killing Mim

Oh yes, Mim... he's a horrible character, & even though he's pretty minor I dislike him more than any of the others.

Hey could I ask you a quick unrelated question... when you're drawing a character... how do you begin? What's your process? Do you do the face first, or a rough outline of the whole figure? I am trying to sketch characters for this novel I'm writing and I'm very rusty. If you could give me any tips I'd really appreciate it...

I usually have a general idea about what I want the character to look like, so I start with basic pose, then when I begin detail I most often render the face first, just to get a feel of the character's mood, then the rest pretty much falls into place. It can be frustrating at times, but I find I feel better if I stick with it and finish rather than quit and come back to it.

That seems like a good way of working; thanks very much for explaining your process...I will bear it in mind for my future attempts Looking forward to seeing more of your art (particularly the Beleg/Turin piece - hint hint, nudge nudge )
