I use to love playing the old Spyro the Dragon games on my PS1. When the Legend of Spyro series came afoot, I hated it! The gameplay was slow and stiff, the Story(as I've heard) is a complete ripoff of the Lord of the Rings, and the characters are bland and lack of personality and emotion. I hated how serious and emotionless Spyro was!X(

But a few years later this new game "Skylanders: Spyro's Adventure" was announced which featured Spyro, who looks as ugly as sin by the way.(quite literally actually) This game's gimmik was that these toy figures represented the characters, and you stuck 'em on this pedistal-thing and they appeared in the game. Alot of people dissed the idea, but I gave it a chance and it wasn't too bad.
Turns out this game is great! Spyro doesn't sound like a fag and is fun and cool again, the story and characters are very goofy and entertaining, and the gameplay is pretty solid and simplistic. Spyro and fly, charge, and breathe fire, that's it! No more of this stupid combat crap.
The 3DS version of the game is a completely different build and acts more like a platformer rather than an action/battle game. It feels a bit glitchy at times, but it's an alright game. It really feels like the classic Spyro games, you can even glide in the air like in the classics!

There are also alot of other characters to play as including...............................................................................................................Cynder.

But most of the other characters are really cool and fun to play as. A few of my faves are Drobot, Eruptor, and Drill Sergent.
There's also this extra level pack coming out which is called "Dragon's Peak". Looking at a screenshot it looks pretty remenisant of the PS1 Spyro games. Also it comes with Sparx the Dragonfly as a special item. I hope he'll act similarly to how he did in the classics where he acted as sort of a sheild/health bar. I mean, he did jack squat in the Legend of Spyro games!
