The fortress motif feels popular these days. I can't tell if that black smoke is from campfires or those are volcanic mountains that are active. If the latter, that wooden fortress may not be the refuge those inhabits think it is.

He lives! It's so nice to hear from you! And yeah, those are semi-active stratovolcanoes. I just think that they never get enough love in fantasy maps, and whether or not I delivered here I just think it makes a landscape feel so much more primal when you get a nice fat smoker somewhere on the horizon.

Indeed, I am still alive. My own lack of creative output to the contrary.
I do like the primordial setting, I agree it doesn't get its due compared to medieval castles and feudal lords. Volcanoes in particular create a feeling of nature being stronger than any of the players on the board. Maybe there aren't enough of them because so many of us live in much more mundane settings and just don't think of them often enough when brainstorming.
