Materials and Methods
Nikon D80 + Nikon AF Nikkor 50mm F/1.8D + IR remote. f/1.8 for max depth of field. Christmas lights hung in the background. See the tutorial above on how to do forced perspective bokeh shots. SB-600 for bounce lighting against a white wall. The camera in the photo is an Argus C3. Minor curves in post editing to darken blue midtones to bring out warmer hues.
Additional Comments
Got some new clear Christmas lights so it's back to bokeh shots

OMG! This is so amazing! Why didn't I see this before???
It's so simple, it's just a camera with bokeh in the background: any photograph would have though of that.
but this is so unique, I don't know how come! There's something that I admire very much of the person who took this picture.
And it's so elegant!

Having seen your blog, I'd like to suggest you to bare in mind that not all artists use the CC license or would appreciate their work being redistributed over the internet with no credit given to them. I hope you realize that it's not sufficient to say that works are from "deviantArt"...that's like taking an entry from your blog and saying I found it on "wordpress."

I added what seems to be the proper credits. Sorry for not reading through your conditions beforehand. Also I did notify the other artists of use of their work, as I did you.
Thank you for allowing me to use this work.

Oh and I always adore when someone is able to take self-portraits (kinda) and still takes photos in focus haha... I find this sooo difficult and you do it all the time
I read your tutorials (very helpful by the way, thanks for sharing!), but I never could make it gahh...
How many shots of this did you take until you found the technically perfect one, if I may ask?

JeanFan In reply to Shadowelve [2012-02-17 20:15:54 +0000 UTC]
About 60 for this one It's not unusual to take more than 100 to get the composition right
But sometimes you get lucky and it only takes like 10 shots. Just takes patience I guess.

Shadowelve In reply to JeanFan [2012-02-21 15:38:52 +0000 UTC]
Oh 100 are a lot, wow I usually need around 40-60 or I give up earlier haha ^^
Seems as if I really need more patience
