the side guns are finally above the doors in this and it has a nice dark brooding color scheme. There’s also several color schemes for different units including a special diplomatic transport

If the LAAT/i is the MI-24 Hind of the SW galaxy THIS is the Mi-26 Helo in terms of size, range and versatility. Essentially operating as a flying FOB, the Klendathu-Class Assault Transport brings plenty of heavy firepower, and has plenty of space for cargo as well as a long-range up-link for ground commanders to coordinate on a strategic level.It was built tough enough to be a shelter as well and in long term deployments the Klendathu typically forms the hub of any base or settlement during its early days of development.Its long range comms, heavy shields and large cargo bay make it well suited to multiple uses which have included as a makeshift heavy bomber dropping outsize payloads.This time the Side mounted quad turrets and troop hatches have been added, THOUGH i want to move the turrets to above the doors to prevent FF accidents and give better fire arcs especially on the ground.Large cargo like the AT-TE is loaded in through the back while troops and smaller pallets go in and out through the 4 side ramps.There is room for an AT-TE and a several platoons worth of troops or equivalent volume of cargo. the cargo bay can be easily reconfigured to transport literally anything including liquids.There is a large hatch in the bottom that can drop or winch up an AT-TE or equivalent cargo on a built in cargo platform.Naturally all the cargo and troops can airdrop as well which under especially heavy fire which is the usual method of rapid deploymentThe wings (which i insist have a PRACTICAL FUNCTION) lower to generate a larger shield envelope to protect disembarking troops and house extra repulsorlifts to aid atmospheric stability.They also have heavy missile racks for engaging ships, AA and other important targets. In the raised position they function mostly to shed heat especially in space.The Tail is the primary long range comm and shield projector.

Internally it is arranged in two decks:
deck one: The ground floor/cargo bay and forward weapon emplacements are mostly located here.and the upper deck is the cockpit, crew quarters, a small room for ground commanders to stay in contact with the larger galaxy and all the systems that keep the ship going, power, life support, propulsion etc.

There are two main versions of the of the Klendathu-Class The military/Assault version and the “Big Bertha“ which strips out the heavy side guns, their power feeds, missiles etc and half of the shield capacity for more internal volume and reinforced repulsorlifts making the lifting of much heavier cargo possible. The upper deck is re-organized for long haul passenger flights and the main/cargo area has more room.
