Ghost Train:

"And every year, on the date of the accident, it runs again as a warning to others. Plunging into the gap, shrieking like a lost soul-"

"Emma, what are you talking about?" interrupted Casey Jr.

"The Ghost Train! Ryder saw it last night," said Emma.

"Where?" asked Puffle.

"He didn't say," Emma replied. "But it have been on our line. Ooo, it makes my wheels wobble just thinking about it.

"Please!" Casey Jr retorted. "You're such a silly little engine, Emma. If saw a ghost, I wouldn't be scared." And he puffed away, laughing.

Later that day Emma was grumply delivering some freight to Adventure Bay where she met Ryder on the platform.

"Hello, Emma, why do you look so angry?" Ryder asked.

"Casey didn't believe in you're ghost. And he called me 'silly little engine' too! Emma grumbled.

Ryder laughed "It wasn't a real ghost. It was a pretend ghost on tv.

Emma was disappointed but she was to busy to think about ghosts. By the time she was done, it was dark.

'I don't care' she thought 'I like running at night. Emma knew the line so well that she could tell where she was in the dark. 'Sweet Apple Accures cossing, won't be long know' but there was trouble waiting on the line ahead.

Earlier that day Applejack had forgotten she was supposed to deliver fresh flour to Sugercube Corner. When she did remember, it was alrighty night.

"Ah well," she said. "A late delivery better then no delivery."

She loaded up the cart and galloped away in hurry. She bearly crossed over the track when she suddenly jerked to a halt.

"What in tarnation?" she said, looking back. "Oh, no!"

The front wheel has fallen off, leaving the rest of the cart stuck right on the line.

"Ah' plum forgot I was supposed to fix the cart wheel too," Applejack said. "Maybe there's still time to head back for the tools to fix this. After all, Casey's the only train runnin' tonight and he's not due for a hour."

Applejack unharnessed herself and trotted back to the farm. But she stopped dead in her tracks when she heard Emma's whistle. She turned around just in time to see Emma chuffing round the bend.

"Emma, Stop!" she shouted. But it was too late.

Emma smashed into the cart and broke it to smithereens flour flew everywhere. Applejack galloped over to her.

"Are you okay, Emma?" she asked.

"I'm ok," replied Emma. "Just surprised."

"I'm awful sorry, I didn't know you were comin'," the farm pony apologized. "Why look at you, you're white all over. If I didn't know better, I'd say you were a ghost."

Emma's face froze. "Say that again?"

"Ah' said 'if I didn't know better, I'd say you were a ghost'," Applejack repeated.

A mischievous grin spread across Emma's face.

"That's it!" she exclaimed.

"What's it?" Applejack asked.

"I look just like a ghost," Emma said. "This is perfect."

"Emma, just what exactly are goin' on with this?" Applejack inquired.

"Let's pretend I'm ghost and scare the smokestack off of Casey," Emma explained. "That'll teach him to call me 'silly little engine'." and she told Applejack what Casey Jr had said.

Applejack was unsure at first, but she remembered that Casey Jr had been far to cocky lately and desided a little prank on him wouldn't be to bad. So she agreed to help, hopped inside Emma's cab, and they set off.

Along they met Ryder, who was doing a midnight patrol. He asked what had happened and they explained. They also told him about the prank they were going to pull on Casey Jr and he agreed to help too.

Further on they met Puffle at the junction and he agreed to help as well. With Applejack and Ryder hiding in his tender, Puffle arrived at the shed where Casey Jr was being oiled up for his evening train.

"Emma's had an accident!" he cried.

"Poor engine," sighed Casey Jr. "Wait! An accident?! That means the line is blocked and I'll be late."

"Oh, no, they cleared the line for you, Casey," Puffle said. "But there's something worse..." he hesitant.

"Out with it, Puffle!" Casey Jr complainted. "I haven't got all night."

"I saw something on my way here," Puffle said, worriedly. "It looked like Emma's ghost. I heard it say it was coming here to haunt us!"

"Ridiculous," Casey Jr scoffed. "Don't be scared, Puffle, there's no such thing as ghosts."

But as he said this, Emma approached the shed.

Peeeeeeeeeep, peeeeeeeeeep, pip, pip, pip, peeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeep!" she whistled in a ghostly voice. "Let me in! Let me in!"

"No, no, not by the smoke of my chimney chim chim!" replied Puffle.

"I'll chuff and I'll puff and I'll break your door in!"

Just as planed, Applejack and Ryder had crepted out of Puffle's tender and opened the shed doors.

Emma glided through, making her ghostly whistle.

"Oh, would you look at the time," Casey Jr said, nervously. "I no idea, I must go fetch Gewn and Ruby!" and he raced out the other end. While Emma, Puffle, Applejack, and Ryder all laughed. Their prank had worked.

Emma was soon cleaned. But Casey Jr didn't come back intill next morning.

"Where have you been?" asked Puffle.

"Yes, well...I knew you'd be sad about Emma and didn't want to intrude, so I slept in the goods shed-" He cut off by the sound of Emma's ghostly whistle. "Oh, sorry, can't stay and talk! Gotta see uh...coach about a train!" and reversed away as fast as lightning.

Emma pulled up along side Puffle, giggling. "Well, well, well, I don't think he'll ever call me 'silly little engine' again."

"Anyone would think," chuckled Puffle. "That our Casey had just seen a ghost."
