At the workshop place something i go to we got a project called The Traveler; You take an object (stuffed animal, sexy spoon etz), then place them somewhere where they dont usually are, to make it seem there travelling.This is a perfect moment to start working on the terrain and details of the Dircol home world.
That was until the trees attacked. I didn't like my older trees and thus tried to keep closer to the Metal Slug trees. though i had troubles with the leaves (as always).
After Looking through DA for tree tutorials, I found www.deviantart.com/art/Tree3-4… . The GIF it had showed a step by step way of shading the kind of leaves I like so iIwent for it.
Judge it, is it better then the green trees i made?

The wood texture looks amazing, i would say change up the colour of the would to see what fit best but whatever.
the leaves of the tree (i can't tell, sorry :C) i wanna say they look like rocks but they don't and i also wanna say they look like fur but either way the formation looks great and alien-ish, the colour is perfect.
edit; i've seen the inspiration for the leaves shading, i'd say less shading ontop of the foreground leaves

yeah, they got a point that it looked too much like a Covenant wraith tank. It will probly be a Mrk II or something similar.
I'm not sure about the color, as ground troops tend to use something called camouflage for good reasons.
