Description Again, I had a hard time choosing a suitable topic for this painting... I picked "males" because all three main characters happen to be males, but that's not the point of the image. Oh well.

This was a digital painting assignment, intended to focus on naturalistic painting and the accurate painting of a group of figures. The subject matter was layed out for me, but everything else was up to me. I chose to frame it very tightly for dramatic effect, and let the background bleed into very bright sunlight.

This piece says alot in it. It is a familiar scene to many from every perspective and you can relate. It's like a story and I love storylike pictures.

As someone that was bullied when young (until basically I picked one of them up by the neck and told them to get lost) this produces a lot of emotion.. and frankly it is just amazing..

Thanks everyone. Like I mentioned when I uploaded, this was an assignment in a peer-based art class I'm in. With this one I was told to try and convey as much emotion as possible, so I'm glad that some people have such a strong response to this. I'm sure we've all been there once or twice.

I'd say the eyes and eyebrows pretty much say it all. You got them down close to perfect.

They guy on the left makes me wanna punch him, you got his expression down pretty well, too. Small critique: his face looks kinda messed up a bit: the shadow under his nose and the top left part of his lips could use some minor fixing. Same goes for his left (from my point of view) elbow, it looks too jaggy.

The hands look great, I've never been able to draw hands. I hate hands because the ones I make always look like sausages bound together.

This won some weekly art piece somewhere... with reason.

The light and lines are beautiful, captures the fear and pondering of the victim. Brutal beauty.

damn. the lighting is great, the look on the kid's face shows so much emotion, the framing adds so much. you are so unbelievably talented.

The tight shot definitely increases the drama. And acmax is right, hiding the eyes of the attackers does provide for a more menacing look.

I really admire your talent for capturing the natural human form. It's very hard, atleast for me, to draw or paint a person in motion without making them look stiff.

I really like how you chose to cut off the two people's eyes out of the picture..it gives them that menacing anonymity.

I love your use of color and detail and I can appriciate the detail as I know how much time it consumes. Your work is quite beautiful. The look of fear on the kids face, and what I get a kick out of most is the ignorant bullie sneer on the fellow in the back. I hope to see more work from you in the future
