Description I've been thinking about this idea for about 2 years, once in a while. I was thinking of an artwork that was like the waterbending scroll of "The Last Airbender". But I wanted to do something real, that had to do with what I know the most, which is Taekwon-do.

I decided to have the back drop of the South Korean flag, which is where Taekwon-do originates. Along the sides are the symbols of the 9 Forms on your way to Black Belt. And with them, is a representation of some combinations used in each form (each line is a Form).

Korean:
Top: Tae Kwon Do
Left Top: Heaven
Bottom Right: Earth
Top Right: Water
Bottom Left: Fire
Bottom: Courtesy Integrity Perseverance Self-Control Indomitable Spirit

It took some time to do this one, and in the end I think it came out good.

Tools: Pencil, paper, and photoshop.

I have to ask, which style of TaeKwonDo is this?
As in, WTF, ITF, excreta...
I personally want to say ITF, but I've only ever seen a little of it, as I primarily practice WTF.

Love what you've done in this work. I have been taking TKD for a while now and didn't know about the meaning of the symbols. Thank you for both this work and your description.

Do you practice TKD?

Yes, I've been doing Taekwon-do for 22 years. Surprisingly I am only a second degree black belt. But I am almost ready for 3rd degree. My Master is wise, and I owe a lot of my knowledge to him. Taekwon-do has changed my life for the better. I'm glad you like my artwork.

I myself am also a 2nd degree. After I got my first black belt it became more about improving myself and my base forms then advancing to the next rank. I think you are very wise for taking a slow approach. It sounds like you have a great master, and I am glad to hear you think so positively of your TKD experiences.

As for the artwork, It's definitly worthy of praise. Nice work.
