Description
Here's a fun one! One of my con prints is of Spier-Man 2099 ( also seen in my banner) and as it happened, I got a commission to work up a full color Spider-Man. Now with this piece I wanted to work a solid b.g. color and incorporate the design of the figure into it. Almost as if anything that wasn't the b.g. color, was all that was actually there. Now when I had come up with this plan, I instantly thought of going with a blue color field and the red of his costume would look like a sweet red lightening bolt. But as I worked it up, the red was the only thing that could actually be read at a distance. So I flipped my plan and made the b.g red and the parts that had volume and form were the blue.Related content

Thanks dude! Yeah I wanted to try and work the flat red into the costume. Β I wasn't confident it would work, but I am just glad to hear that you like it!

Well I will say this. Β If marvel ever wanted to sell it, I would have no problem at all with that! Β HA! Β But I don't see that ever happening! Β It would be awesome though! Β Thanks again man!

I love your rendition of Spidey 2099. Your version is much darker than the original. Nice job!

Well thank you so much! Yeah I went a lot darker than the original version. But in a lot of ways that original genesis arc of the character was very horror-esque. So I always read the story as being much much darker. Spider-Man 2099 was always more monstrous to me and I just loved it.

Well thank you so much! I am glad to have found a like minded person when it comes to what I think is the best iteration of a non-canonical Spider-Man. I can't tell you how much I would love to one day work on a Spidey 2099 book! AH dreams...

He's just got so much going for him as a character. You have the corporate espionage, the mutations, the look of the suit, just so much to love! One day i will make my own book, or something, just because I freaking love Spidey 2099!
