Description
My second artwork for my Film to Art Godzilla project. The last one I did was the famous shot of him looking over the mountain. This one is the scene where he is chewing on the train car. Now, I added a few things like the explosion in the background. Overall, I think this one came out great.Related content

Very cool. I like it. The shooting explosion right behind him really helps to pull the character away from the background. If you didn't do that...it probably would have came out like some really dark grey blob of a mess. But you certainly had a plan to get around that. Which shows good forethought. Pretty good work as always man

And Exactly, that was the reason behind adding the explosion. I needed more there to bring out Godzilla. In fact, I wasn't even planning smoke at first. It was just going to be all black but then I added the smoke, and when I thought it would still be too dark then I added the explosion.

I love how you didn't shy away from the limitations the special effects offered it, and incorporated it into your work, instead. Godzilla looks terrifying here! Kudos!

Yes, I tried making it look as close to the original scene as possible. It still looks a bit like the hand puppet with the small arms and the way his teeth don't actually crush the train. At the same time though, with the use of dark grey and with the explosion I think it came out great.
