Wow, this movie is crap. I mean, scraping the bottom of the barrel crap. But holy cow, is it ever funny. Robot Monster is one of the those legendary bad movies that everyone seems to have heard of, but no one seems to have ever seen. Made in 1953, for $20,000 (In 3-D, no less!) this movie is dumb moviemaking at its finest. The premise, as it were, is that Earth as we know it is destroyed. Boom. Done. There are only 8 survivors left, hiding in a cave. It is up to the evil Ro-Man to destroy the last surviving members of the human race by hand. Did I mention that Ro-Man, the evil conquering alien is a gorilla wearing a diving helmet? Well, he is. And he brought with him evil bubble making machines of DOOM! Oh man. This movie is just plain awful, but like Plan 9 from Outer Space, it's one of the most remembered crap movies from the 1950's.Related content

Fact: Roman the Ro-Man destroyed almost all of Earth's population save for six refugees. Yet, they all lived within a short walk of his cave.
Fact: Roman the Ro-Man used a cosmic ray that kept the cities of the world intact, to be enjoyed later by all Ro-Man. Yet, he lived in a cave. And not even a very good cave.
Fact: Roman the Ro-Man was an artificially created being devoid of any human passions, normal fears, tenderness, or forgiveness, ultimately lacking that which mortals cling to most: humanity. Yet he liked bubbles.
Roman the Ro-Man came from a civilization light-years ahead of Earth, or at least the Earth portrayed in the film. Yet, he frequently gestured like Howie Mandel. Go figure.
We believe these truths to be self-evident--and obvious.

This is great. I'm surprised that all of those corny 50s sci-fi's haven't had modern re-envisionings. Mars Attacks is probably the best we've had.

I just love how he talked... with brief pauses in between parts of certain words. "pit-iful hoo-mans!"
he looks like a big dork, but is also rather frikkin' brutal in his demeanor. XD

Omg... I have seen this!! It's one of my all time favorite terrible sci-fi movies of yesteryear! And yes, I don't know anyone else who had actually seen it.

Ha! I haven't seen Manos, I'll have to add that to the list. I'll have to mull over my favorites but a recent one I saw that was terrible was Thankskilling. A cursed turkey that kills college kids, home for Thanksgiving. It's something else, lol
