Description This is a drawing for , who so sweetly requested the Master as a subject of one of my Obsession drawings! So here's my submission for 'Abandoned' in my Obsessions 100 Themes Challenge. Why 'Adandoned'? I guess that's how I think of the remaining Time Lords after their planet is lost.

I had a major nerdgasm over my latest trip to the art store and ended up coming home with a 9B graphite crayon which made me happier than a pig in s&$%!

Anyhow - I used my honkin' 9B as well as a regular old 9B, 6B, 2B, 2H, and 3H for this. I took two reference pics together for this piece and am pretty happy with the result.

Wow! I have to say that this is one of the best drawings of the Doctor and the Master that I've seen. It's beautiful and I love the dramatic lighting. I also have got to point out that their eyes are stunning and, as I believe someone else pointed out in another comment, the Master's stubble is perfect! I too have the hardest time when it comes to stubble. It's very hard, at least for me, to draw stubble without it looking very...well...drawn on, if that makes sense.

Anyhow, overall this is a wonderful piece of work and the only thing that I think might need a little work is perhaps their ears and the Master's nose. I don't know, but the harsher lighting around the end of the Master's should be blended in some more with the shading. It just looks like the shadow stops a bit too suddenly.

As for the ears, they just look a tiny bit odd to me, especially David's. His ear looks too small to me or maybe too far away from his sideburns, but then I've not seen your reference pictures for either of them so I could be totally wrong about all of that.

Either way, this is a brilliant portrait of these two Time Lords and I really hope to see more of them. This is fantastic!

But Moffat wants to distance himself from RTD. So that means, no Jack, no glimpses into the Human Doctor and Rose's life, no Donna, etc...

I like the fact that the Master is in light and the Doctor is sorta in shadow. It makes the contrast between them even more profound and is opposite of what you would think. Although, the Master does always seem to have the plan and the Doctor is always caught unaware. I feel that this uncertainty is very clear in this picture. Nicely done!
