Description
This is the pencil work for my latest West City Superheroine, Violet. (Currently, she's in a Millenium City game using Champions, but honestly, she belongs in West City (Coming soooooon!) along with the Guardians and all the fun folks there.)Grown in a vat by the Shadow Government, given awesome telekinetic powers by way of alien DNA technology, and lacking in social skills beyond those of a 1950's Stepford Daughter, Violet is bundles of fun for all!

I'm loving that her breasteses fall naturally and are just covered by her open shirt, instead of being somehow supported to give the WONDERBRA! look. Real women don't tape their breasts!
I DO think she could use more pelvic area, not widthwise, but lengthwise. It's partially because I have a very similar figure (which makes me like this picture even more, hardly anyone draws short torsoed women, it seems) but my pelvic reagion is 'longer', so she looks a little odd - but at the same time, I wouldn't go so far as to say it's incorrect, as I've seen lots of women with pelvic regions that were shorter, lengthwise.
I also feel like I want to see a little more of her right arm than I am, but I don't know if that's something that would be correct, or if it looks odd because it's one of those things that always look odd even when completely right. I'm too lazy to go look in the mirror, and anyhow, my arms are fat so it wouldn't really be accurate.
HOWEVER. Taken as a whole, I really like her. Her personality is readily obvious from her pose and expression, and her figure is something readily seen on a real woman (if much more fit than a lot of us real women manage ). Although I'd be a little disturbed if I did pass this particular girl on the street, because that outfit + that expression = trouble.

Thank you! In fact, she's wearing a leotard (this will become evident when colored, I think) but your point is not lost!
I can assure you that her arm, and her hips, are as they were with the model (who had much larger breasts, which were perhaps artificial - causing me to bust out my trusty Hogarth Dynamic Clothing and Dynamic Figure books and taking his lessons and words on young women and the dynamics of their bust to heart), even if they do look a bit odd to me.
Her fingers were a pain in the arse, I tells ya. They should be splayed out across her hips, but they look ungainly and inhuman if I do that, so I curled them up (and stood in front of a mirror a bit, to get the right "clench" effect, even).
But yes! I'm fond of her outfit, her boobs (can I say that?) and her legs.
I'd be more concerned with the fact that she floats a few inches off the ground if I passed her on the street than I would with her outfit!
Thankya!

It isn't so much just the outfit, as the combo of outfit + expression that would make me think that collateral damage is happening, and SOON. The floatyness would just encourage me to be elsewhere, very rapidly.
*nod* Trust your model. Like I said, somethings things that are rendered 100% correctly STILL won't look right to the human eye, or at least the human eye up after midnight. *g* I try to always figure that margin of error on my part in with a crit, especially if I can't pry my ass up from the chair long enough to try it for myself. And truly, you did a great job, she looks very solid, real.
I feel your pain on the hands! I'm forever wanting to draw hands in splayed positions and it invariably looks like hammered shit. Drawing them curled up worked well and was a fine compromise.
And she has awesome legs.

/me loathes drawing hands.
I'm totally in love with her legs. They're atheletic, without being overly long (Marvel-Style) or bulkily muscled. < 3
And I still don't know if I'm allowed to say "boobs". I'll just keep saying it and see what happens.

I'm rather fond of it, myself. What do you think of her right hand? I'm getting some feedback that says it might need some adjustment?

It does look just a little bit off. Maybe make it look a little larger?

Unfortunately, I inked it up last night... We'll have to see how that works.

I did a quick color-job under the pencils last night, that I might post. It's not my best, but it gives a good idea of where I want the colors to go and look like when they're done.
