Well, it was Pikachu's power was why he was profitable. His power was unlike any Pikachu can handle, that power was super rare in Pikachus before they evolve. Kinda like how male calico cats are so damn expensive your lucky if you sold it because there like millions if not close to billions of dollars.

But in the video games its boasting anyway. You got to admit though, the Video Game protagonists are more badda$$ than Ash because at least they captured legendaries, beaten all of the champions of the world and completely destroyed evil organizations. What did Ash do? He can't even get rid of a single squad of grunts since the start of his journey, but he did save the world a few times WITH legendaries helping him.
