Around Anluan's feet and in the birdbath, small visitors to the garden hopped and splashed and made the most of the day that was becoming fair and sunny. He did not seem to notice them. As for me, I found it difficult to take my eyes from him. I like the book open better than closed as it's supposed to be. And yes, I pretty much suck at drawing vegetation

Anluan is a tormented guy, he sits in his garden a lot staring at nothing, it just breaks your heart, in this scene he is spotted there by Caitrin, who just can't take her eyes of him -that's her describing him in the quote
