Description
The PMSC-CV10 Dirk-Class corvette, designed in 2316 with production initiated a year later in the Audland shipyards, was- like all PMSC designs- developed with firepower and defense primarily in mind and cost a distant third. One medium APPC turret under the nose and four light APPCs make the Dirk a true fighter-killer. Two spinal-mount heavy APPCs and AP lancers- powered by stacked reactors behind the bridge- allow this little ship to do significant damage to capital ships. Rounding out its impressive firepower are the two SSMs carried on magnetic hardpoints on the outer wings.
The "Blue Max"
The first Dirk off the line was given to Lynari D'Avuur, a Namaran pilot with incredible skill. Like all Namarans, Lynari's superhuman agility gave her incredible talent in a cockpit, with hand-eye coordination that translated to the neural link to become an incredible war machine when strapped in. She "pushed it to the max", according to the testers, damn near flying the ship off its engines, and performing feats of combative acrobatics- including tear-assing through a dense asteroid field at nearly .04 C- that defied physics. The results of the tests and Lynari's lighter blueish tinge of the Namaran indigo skin colour eventually led to her nickname "Blue Max". She was later given the upgraded prototype- now sheathed in blue nanoskin with her monicker on the hull- as a present by the CEO.
