If Derpy can use magic, then she is more than just a Pegasus. This would have to imply a magical infusion somewhere in her life. The bubble is just a manifestation of her magical ability. Her ability to penetrate a magical barrier would mean she can put a protective barrier between herself and any obstacle she may hit. This makes her different from Rainbow Dash.
In a way, Derpy is autistic. She lacks something in exchange for having greater use of something else.

Two corrections for you:
Panel 4: look at her cutie mark!
Cutie is on of those weird words that achieves the βyβ sound with βieβ instead of 'y'.
Last panel: you have Fluttershy saying βthis protection looks like to a bubble!β
It should be either:
"This protection spell looks like a bubble!"
Or
"This shield looks like a bubble!"
Personally Iβd go with shield as thatβs the most common term used when speaking of the idea of magic or energy based defenses.
