The homely people are the country's callous...so

The tobacco in the pipe of losers
Steadfast promises lie in crumpled paper
Machine-gun speeches complete the caper...which doesn't
Stimulate all we'll know
Are we just empty shells
In virtual hell?
Thrust your arms North
Bloody landscapes illuminate the dark
with the cries of the innocent
There'll be an end to all you'll know...

Immediately, I thought of what the world is going through when I read "burning ballots" (so many people have gotten hurt or died trying to vote and have their voices heard) and "Steadfast promises lie in crumpled paper/
Machine-gun speeches complete the caper" (the promises of politicians, people's hopes dying, and the presence of violence all over the world). The line: "..Market me to children/For they are my future" seems to accurately portray what will happen, too.
