Description
This is a drawing of Eli in the glorious film "Let the Right On In". Simply one of the greatest films I have ever seen. If you have not seen it yet it is a must, wonderfully artistic and meaningful. This turned out ok, not perfect but it was fun to do and did not take long at all for a change.
Made with colored pencils
Here is my new one made 7 years later!

I have yet to see the film "Let the Right On In", so I really don't know what her character in the film is all about. However, I can feel some intrigue in her face, especially her eyes. Drawn extra large? May be to add to the 'what she may be watching'. They convey mystery very well, especially the blue-orange shading. The wetness of hair (fear? chased after?) has come out very well. The shadows under the strands of hair look great indeed. This painting creates a feeling of anticipation. The rendering is good and the blood streaks stand out, adding to the general mood.

Thanks, and yes that movie is flat out epic, wish it got more respect than it does, kills the American version of it.

I agree totally. I've been making everyone I know watch this movie. The American version is terrible. I don't think I got more than 15 minutes into it. Gone were the bonechilling creepyness and mystery.

Personally, I'm pretty amazed by how well down the skin is, and the blood is really, really good! Just in general a very realistic drawing

I knew what this was from as soon as I saw the drawing. That movie had such atmosphere...the gloominess, dark, and cold of Scandinavia is a perfect setting for a vampire flick, I think. Great drawing, as usual. You are so, so, talented.

The eyes and the hair are drawn so nicely! It really conveys a kind of scary mood, even though I don't know what the movie is about =]

Her eyes catch me, actually Lina doesn't have blue eyes, it's a pity, she looks like an angel with blue eyes.
What else can I say? The colors are great, the drops of blood are even better, you have pick the right scene for this work...

Really, the reference I used for this she did have blue eyes. But yes I guess in real life they are more dark brown.

Thanks, I am glad you like it. And I agree that film is wonderful, sadly Lina Leandersson has not done a film since then but she was born to play Eli in this movie.

Absoluently agree - theres a new americanised version out soon and don't know if I wanna see it, incase it can't stand up to the original...

Yeah that American one is awful and clearly ripped everything off, not even close to being like the original
