I wanted to post, what I believed to be an iconic image of the beloved Ronnie James Dio, who was taken away from us this morning after a battle with stomach cancer.Dio is the greatest vocalist in metal and paved the way for metal to exist in the capacity it does today.
to say this is the most tragic loss in metal history, is a vast understatement.
RIP Dio. You will forever be the flame of which no one could ever hold a candle to.

NOTE - DD: Thanks so much for the DD - i feel so honored, but even more so, I am very happy that this is also honoring the greatest singer in metal of all time. Lets remember how amazing his music, his words, and everything that he gave to us. We should celebrate his presence - as it truely was a gift. RIP DIO.

Wow, I grew up listening to this guy. One of the best singers ever. I don't usually get gushy over celebrity deaths, but this one really affected me. Listening to old Dio stuff nonstop now. So amazing.

R.I.P. Dio you rocked! I was playing "Man on the Silver Mountain" riff earlier on my guitar, kind of tribute to a fallen legend. We will miss you Dio, you have been an inspiration to me and all others who aspire to make metal awesome.
Everytime I hear "Rainbow in the Dark" or "Man on the Silver Mountain" I will bang my head and stamp my feet to the rhythm as my way of remembering him. He will be missed and dearly.
