you might as well have mentioned that wings need to be like 3x the height of a human figure to work anyway...
its all fine and dandy to talk about actual bird anatomy, but some of these suggestions seem a bit nit-picky
especially given that you need to bend the rules of anatomy to even give a character wings in the first place...

I believe I mentioned on the Tumblr post somewhere that I sized the wings to be able to fit in the tutorial and show the details of the human as well. But yes, they should be huge, around 15ft minimum.
As for the rest, I mentioned in the tutorial itself that you might not always want to use all the tips for incorporating the bones, and that's fine. And it's an anatomy tutorial, so yes, it's nitpicky.
