Description
A reference for my character TWy, who is based off of theNiGHTS games by Sega.
... Got to love that 'gender ambiguous' symbol I made there XD
( that said,TWy prefers to be referred to as 'he' )
Nightmaren (TWy's race) are capable of a degree of shapeshifting, so those ' persona ' masks are used to allow them to transform into more complex froms, like animals.
The idea for the human persona mask came from the original masks NiGHTS and Reala have in the latest game,
because we never find out what they do... If anything.
(and I therefore randomly decided they must do something awesome :3)
I think you would call that a gijinka nightmaren..?
his lower eyelashes are made of black feather's like the sort Reala wears.
Twy can perform a normal paraloop
(create a gravity pull/portal by performing a loop-the-loop)
but can also perfom an 'infinity' paraloop-
where drawing an infinity creates a more powerful suction tornado.
The infinity theme is supposed to be ironic,
because twilight, which TWy is named after,
is a very fleeting period of time.

TWy's design is simply colorful, bright, and the under-eye-lashes are a new and unique idea, almost like his staple the way they appear in all his forms. He really catches your eye.
What's his personality like though? Again, he has a lot of vibrant colors in his outfit, but his expression itself looks pretty solem. Especially in contrast to all the PINK.

Well, TWy is actually somewhat blank in terms of personality,
a bit like how NiGHTS' gender is supposedly determined by who's dreams he/she enters...
TWy is a nightmaren who was almost erased from existence,
therefore there's not a lot of the original personality left,
and the blanks are filled in by the feelings and emotions of the people who's dreams he enters.
I suppose what personality TWy does have is rather sombre,
as you say, in contrast to the gaudy colour scheme :3

Although drawn well I don't like the idea of a human persona, as without duelizing I don't think they can use persona masks, seeing as, only NiGHTS's has any effect in the game... So I don't see how being human would benefit them in anyway, also I don't think NiGHTS and Reala are supposed to differ too much from humans but it's the style of the game.
then again I think it was just an addition for Journey of dreams (and one I really didn't like), so I don't know the rules of it
That looks so much like those Ram Nightmarens... (i have a Pian with a rams head XD)
I do like the Goldeen persona XD
And the infinity paraloop is a nice concept
and there is already a gender ambiguous symbol (often used for transgenders)

It was indeed meant to be like a more powerful ram maren. I can see him controlling a flock of them.

but the ram maren don't have legs XD
also you get mutant Pians (knows and Mepians) by grabbing a maren and smacking it into a Pian... then paraloop the pian egg that is made, just incase you wanted to know. I have one that is all bug.
oh and i think you were right about Jackle using Tarot cards, I think Chamalan that uses Playing cards

OK so Twy is the name then, alright sorry was confused a moment there. I've seen a couple fan based rpg games about and wondered if it was from another such.
But yes, have the game, love the game. draw my own fanart from game, fanfics and other such things now and then and been messing with my own fanmaren design as well. Just can't think of what I'd like to try.

I really love the esign of your maren. It has it's simplicity yet it has really fun colors and costume! I think you are one of the very few people who actually take the fact that Nightmaren CAN shape shift and use it.^^ Good job to that!

Actually your's isn't bad. Plain generic? Your maren isn't one of those NiGHTS recolors if thats what you mean.^^ Th only thing I suppose is that the vest looks like JoD NiGHTS'. thats about it but it's not too bad.

Oooooh nice, I like the inclusion of the infinity paraloop idea (unsurprisingly) and the theme in general. And the two animal transformations are good too (even though the goldfish one does look a lot like goldeen XD).But yeah, the human persona idea is interesting although I guess humans are animals too so it's fully plausible that a nightmaren could turn into one.

I'm planning on working out another flying creature persona, perhaps a butterfly... because it seems lacking without one..
Interestingly, they're fully capable of mimicking machines on their own. Although NiGHTS does have a persona that turns him into a rocket.
God knows the logic surrounding turning into humans. They're animals but they also produce Ideya... then again it could just be no more than a physical facade *mutters far too seriously*

Ahaha, classic. I like the FF8 tune they chose to go with it as well. And I'd forgotten that machines were possible too, that's pretty cool. You should think of a machine form for TWy as well as the other flying one.
