Thank you. I wanted it to look more like a studio portrait, as opposed to the everyday elephant at the zoo shot.

With photoshop. Most of that was dark already because of his body. It looked a little weird with a hole between the trunk and his body though, so when I made it b&w I just filled in the rest with black. Probably with the brush tool. The lighting was already like that from the sun. Just changed the levels a little to make the texture of the skin stand out.
