A revisit to my "Drake" image to actually finish it. I like how this came out. Yes I do.Go technicolor dragon!!! *flails*

*beams* this is SUCH an old piece. I always think of an oil slick whenever I look at it *laughs!* ... now I want to make a green and purple one to go with it. Oooh or a green and gold one! *random* green and blue?

So long as you keep those vibrant jewel tones against the black, run with it. That has always been my favorite way to match colors - jewels against black. Nah, never tell *I'm* a product of the 80s, could ya?

*laughs!* Well youc an't tell too well from me. I'm honestly not fond of bright colors. My favorite pieces are very subdued, lots of browns, greens... not much contrast. Like the tentacles I'm working on right now. But then again I was raised by a hippy. That probably explains a lot.

See, that must be the difference. My parents are very conservative, and though an artist herself my Mom was really into pastels, muted tones and kitchy Americana color schemes, so it was only normal for me to rebel and go for bold colors instead.

LOL I have a deep and abiding respect for my Daddy too, even if he is a bit stodgy in his ways at time. I know deep down he has a silly streak, we share similar tastes in music, and age has definitely mellowed him in many ways.
But I think he's too used to Mom's tastes in decor sometimes (lots of fake flowers, doilies, handpainted wooden things, geese in bonnets, that kind of thing) but he likes my graphics too.

LOL My mom gets the biggest kick out of animated singing toys. I'm still haunted by the Singing Bass mounted on the wall of my Father's den...
Needless to say my son loved going to visit Gramma & Grampa when he was little, just so he could make all her toys dance at once. I suddenly had flashbacks to my *very* short stint as a holiday cashier at Kay-Bee Toys when all the mall mothers would release their brats into the store to play while they shopped. Yeah Mom...feel my pain! LOL

This one? I didn't do any background at all, couldn't think of anything appropriate *grin* It's just colored pencils on a kind of grainy black paper.

Beautiful technique with the colour and the almost petrol affect on the drake's skin (I think you must have heard that before, but it does put me in mind of petrol on water). You've pulled the image off wonderfully; it's colourful and engaging without being garish and over powering. The whole thing looks incredibly graceful and fluid.

Wow, thats amazing. It looks so....strong. *snuggles it* o.o; *prepares to get head bitten off* For some reason, I find it kind of cute. Then again, I'm the kind of girl who will sit at the zoo watching the albino snake and poking the glass lightly and calling it cute.....xD (That was fun.) So...I know its probably not what you're aiming for o.o;. xD I'm just weird.
