Description
A revisit to my "Drake" image to actually finish it. I like how this came out. Yes I do.Go technicolor dragon!!! *flails*

... one gets the very decided impression that if one were to sneak up upon this fantastic beast (ignoring its warning growls, since we're foolish humans)... and if one were to, because of one's excitement (and again, because one is a foolish mortal), throw caution to the wind, and reach out a hand to touch that bright, and fascinatingly iridescent hide... that it would be as smooth as the soft down on a baby duck. And very warm. Invitingly warm.
.. and god now I just have this absolutely irresistable urge to WANT to rub its jaw.. does one dare to let it bite, just for the temptation of hearing it purr?

Oh, that's gorgeous! I love the way you blended the colors, with the blue moving to purple and vice versa. It's like he shimmers.

Wow, I love the colors and the solid feel of the thick color pencil. The idea of putting so many wings results in a beautiful and unique design. The face is absolutely crazed and amazing. The only nitpick I have is that the wing toward the center seems a little more stiff and not as convincing as the others. Otherwise, stunning and beautifully executed.

I can't imagine my comment being anything new to you after all the other praise you've received, but I'm going to put my two cents in anyway. I think this is absolutely gorgeous, just stunning. The colors are fabulous -- I love the way you merge a body in cool colors with the warmer colored wings, and in a traditionally fiery beast. The spines around the head are lovely, and the snout and tail are just incredible. The pose is wonderful -- restive, but so filled with life. I think you've truly captured the essence of a dragon, or drake -- fierce, beautiful, proud and majestic.

(And you know... I appreciate comments... but over time my memory fades *has the worst memory in the history of the world* so it's nice to get more, because it reminds me of the things that I liked about the piece, and sometimes reminds me of other ideas I had around that time... and then they get drawn!)

The colors are amazing! I particularly love the coppery details in the ridge. I also love the twisted shape, esp. the tail spiraling around his neck. I hate it when people draw ugly dragons - yours is so beautiful, you're my hero!

I'm loving the colours Jess; they're so rich and divine - very suitable for a Dragon. I particularly like the wings and the lighting on the forearms/cheast - very smooth, as if the skin/scales are so tiny and delicate, yet strong as hell. I missed the original of this before, I think (or at least, it doesn't ring any bells in this muddled up memory of mine), but this is divine.

The original is one of my older pieces. It's burried pretty far back in the gallery. I was going to take it down, but a bunch of people freaked out.... so... er... it stays.

i realise that you have had such an influx of messages concerning this pic before but i thought why not add some fuel to the fire.
your attention to detail is greatly fascinating, and i guess the fact that you used traditional media in the form of coloured pencil earns alot of respect from me. the design of this creature is simiilar to the way my sis draws and thats why i needed to see it larger. the colour scheme, creature design and rendering are spot on. all the different interactions in this between wings and such are really impressive also. finally looking through other comments left on here..i commend you on your loyalty to your fans and others who took time to appreciate your art..i cannot say no to fantasy orietated art either (this being the major vein of what i draw) thanks for sharing,ill look around your gallery now, josh

Oh my god! This is beautiful and shiny. It's amazing that you are able to use color pencils to make this and it is much better than many of the digital arts. I like how you color the drake with purple as its skin and the blue and golden parts are like shining. Can you teach me how to use color pencils? (Please forgive me as if I am so busybody, I'm just like to learn how to use color pencils in better way.)
