I cannot express to you how much I love this piece. I saw it a long while ago but never commented on it and then consequently lost it and have not seen it again until now... Now it's in my favourites. I love the detail you have put into this image, and the colours are soft but still attain and hold my attention. There's subtle movement, which I like, and the background, though simple, is enough to make this a finished piece. The wings are gorgeous too because not only did you pay attention to each feather, you paid attention to each fiber on each feather, and that is what is so amazing. I love this piece very much. You are very talented.

Thank you so much. Ahah you've actually reminded me that I got convinced to do this exact same picture over again, but this time from a front view (no clue how I"m going to pull that one off). Anyway thank you so much for the lovely words.

You're quite welcome. And, for the record, I'm sure that doing a front view will be of no challenge to you. I wouldn't worry about it too much and just allow it to happen.

mm I see it, but she can't revoke permission given to use her as a reference back when I did this. I mean I feel bad for her and all, but I'm not going to take down my painting *shrugs* Just means I won't do any FUTURE art with her as a model (plus I'm not a photo manipulator anyway so it's not her likeness *chuckles*).
And thanks for the compliment.

I figured you'd be fine, I just wanted you to be aware so it couldn't possibly bite you. I saw your piece and went 'hey, wow, that's good!' and wanted to see your reference for it to see how you had drawn from it otherwise I wouldn't have checked her page at all. Your account filled my evening 'pretty shiny things to look at' quota.

lol just used her as reference for the way a back looks, so I'll be just fine. Pity she took all her stock down, she had some lovely pieces. Ah well. And thanks, I'm glad you enjoyed!

A good place to start, except I am struck speechless with awe. I keep scrolling back up to look but I just can't think of anything to say that isn't WOW.

Oh wow... I don't think I can express just how beautiful that is. I love the wings, but I also love the little blue guy at her feet. He reminds me of the firelizards from Anne McCaffery's Pern.

Your use of space is just so amazing. I love the work you did with your details and the beads are a very elegant, gentle touch. <3

*squee* I've been looking all over for this! I bought this print at an Anime Bonzai in Salt Lake City, and have been hunting it online ever since (good thing I remembered that I still had your business card). Woot.... I actually wrote a poem for this pic, but only cause it was an assignment.....
