I spent an hour trying to draw a nose today when I should have been working - I never thought to look for a tutorial before I attempted shading noses again! Nice job and awesome nose!

"Of course you don't want to see the strokes of your pencil". Do you have any idea of the nonsense you have written?

'so i blend it with a tortillion' read further!
what's the nonsense..you can't draw soft shadows with strokes in it.

Wow those are so helpful! Thank you so much! I didn't even know what a tortillion was until now! (Actually I'm still not 100% sure).
...I always used my finger to blend the shadows.
I'm going to try and get some real art supplies and see how that changes my drawings.

Thank you for the tutorial! It is very helpful. Noses are one of the hardest things for me to draw, so I was in dire need of this. You've made it very simple and organized, so great job! If you can, can you put up a mini-tutorial on how you got the original nose sketch in the first place? That is also something that I have trouble with. However, I understand if it's too much trouble or if it's not worth explaining something that simple. It's already a very nice favor to make the tutorial you've put here already. Once more, you've done excellent work here!

Thank you for the comment. Only it's hard to explain how i make the lines. Because i almost don't make any lines. I build it up with shadows. I only draw the lowest part of the nose and build it up with shadows to the eyes.

Oh, don't worry, this explanation actually helps me a lot! Thank you so much! If I remember I'll try that technique out sometime. Thanks for taking the time to reply and explain!
