Description
This is a collage that I made of the tributes. The number indicates the tribute's age, not their district (which should be obvious). If I made a mistake, let me know.
Also, I edited each and every person's picture. This collage took me 2 hours.. :/
Hope you like it.
---------------------------------------------------
In the movie Haymitch can be quoted saying that the career tributes are trained basically from birth, until they are 18. But, that does not mean they go into the games at 18.
In the Hunger Games, only kids from 12-18 are allowed to participate, which is why they stop training at 18, because if they haven't already been into the Hunger Games by the age of 18, they wont be in the games at all.
Most of you mistake Haymitch saying that, as proof that Cato is 18 but you also mistook what Haymitch was trying to say.
In the book The Hunger Games Tribute Guide, it shows some of the tributes names, ages, and heights.
For Cato it does in fact state that he is 16, and not 18.
Although the book was written by Emily Seife and not Suzannne Collins, all information was confirmed by Suzanned Collins, plus she also added her own things in their as well.

Didn't the book say, that districts one and two have those academies and than volunteer with 18? So they must all be 18 right?

They have academies where they undergo training until they are 18.
The reason it stops at 18 is because of the fact that they can no longer be in the games past that age,
Not because they automatically volunteer at that age.
Otherwise there would be a heck of a lot of people trying to volunteer at each games from those districts.

That I knew and it also seems legit, my thought was more that the 2 two 'best' of each 18th year class volunteer. But heck knows.

All you have to do is search the tribute name + district number on google images.
Or if you don't know their name, just search "boy or girl" + district number on google.
Another thing to do is go to IMDB, find out the name of the actor or actress, and search that on google while adding "hunger games" to the search.
Glad you love it.

No, she wasn't.. She was 12. That's why Katniss had such a strong connection with her, because she was Prims age.
Also, about 95% of these ages have been confirmed by the writer of the Hunger Games..Just so you know.

This is Boggs from Mockingjay. [link]
If you scroll down to his likes on the page(you have to click "see all"), he has the other tributes liked. They are all seperate pages.
Here are some random ones:
Dristict 8 Male= [link]
District 7 Female= [link]
District 10 Male= [link]
Not sure you'd really find it worth your while, but they have each have lots of funny pictures, and little stories that they have written.

Hum, I know you posted this long time ago but if you see this photo [link] you'll see the real ages.
That's a pity we don't see too much of the other tributes... If I could classify them in order of beautiful it would be:
Boys: Cato, D8, Peeta, D3, D6
Girls: Katniss, D3 (not in this picture!xD), Glimmer

That may be what it says on the movie but in the book that I talked about that the writer agreed to, said differently. Either way, awesome screen shot!

I read what you put about Cato being 16- and that's correct, but it has made me think. The tributes from the 'career' districts are described as trained from birth, and they eventually volunteer at the age of 18. So why weren't there any 18 year old volunteer tributes to volunteer for Cato and Clove? :S
π: 0 β©: 1
jessieiii In reply to Hama-Girl [2012-07-23 01:35:16 +0000 UTC]
I am pretty sure the careers all volunteer when they are ready, not necessarily when they turn 18. No one else volunteered for Cato, because Cato was already a volunteer. ([link] )
It is unknown if Clove is also a volunteer but most likely so since all careers are supposed to be volunteers.

jessieiii In reply to Hama-Girl [2012-07-24 00:20:15 +0000 UTC]
Well because they think that they are the best, and that they are ready to fight. They were confident that they would win.

The boy from district 9 may be 12, I really do not know if the age is correct or not.. I just went by the website, and it was completely proven that Cato IS 16, not 18. It was in The Hunger Games Tribute Guide, and I am pretty sure another book that stated that Cato is in fact 16, and not 18.
It was also proven that the movie does not state his age.

BiggestAnimeFan2 In reply to jessieiii [2012-05-14 22:18:37 +0000 UTC]
The movie. I don't think it even gives any ages.
16 (The Hunger Games: Tribute Guide)
18 (film)
For all we know he could be 12. But I prefer 18, if you prefer 16, that's fine, they're apparently the same thing, I guess Cato aged two years in two days.

In the film it was 16, that's what the tribute guide was. It was a book about the movie characters... but alright, if you say so.

Cato is 18. The other tributes from districts one and two are probably all 18 as well because they're all Careers - people who train until they're 18 and then volunteer to play in the Hunger Games.

jessieiii In reply to frozen-fyre [2012-05-01 03:08:05 +0000 UTC]
Many websites state that he is 16, and suposed to be the same age as Katniss.
Plus, nothing I have ever seen said that careers train until they are 18, all just state that they are trained since birth, even in the books it says that.
In the movie it is clear that Clove is 15, and she is a career. Which also goes against your theory.

frozen-fyre In reply to jessieiii [2012-05-01 05:52:48 +0000 UTC]
How is it clear that Clove is 15?
In the movie (which Suzanne Collins herself worked on extensively) it DOES say that the Careers train up until they're 18, and then volunteer. I've seen it three times so far.

jessieiii In reply to frozen-fyre [2012-05-01 11:22:44 +0000 UTC]
I have also seen it three times.. Twice in theatre and once online. As well as plenty of my friends also say they never heard it say they train until they are 18, and if you google it nothing says that either.
And to be honest, I don't know why it is clear that Clove is 15, when I was looking over all the websites say that she was only 15 in the movie, and had a different age in the books..
And although district 4 was removed as the careers in the movie, Nerio (District 4 male) was one of the youngest.

If you don't know why it's clear that she's 15, theeeen perhaps it isn't clear?
Haymitch says (in the movie) that they're 18.

I actually went to Barnes & Noble today, and I was also wrong. I didn't remember to check for Marvel, Glimmer or Clove's ages, but Cato IS 16. It was in one of the official Hunger Games trivia book things. So I guess the movie script just didn't add up. Stupid inconsistencies.
