Description
Dialogue from the first shadow game from book one. Ushio is a big brute at school that imposed himself as Yugi's "bodyguard" and brutally beat up two teenagers from Yugi's class that had picked on him earlier. Yugi is horrified at what Ushio had done and tells him to stop. Ushio then tells Yugi that his "bodyguard fee" is 200,000 yen. (about $1,600) Yugi stands there in shock and dismay. Ushio takes this as him not being satisfied and that he should beat them even more. Yugi then jumps in the way and declares to Ushio not to touch them any more, and if he was going to hurt someone to hurt him. Ushio then beats Yugi up in front of the two former bullies, Joey and Honda (yeah, I prefer Joey's english name and Tristan's Japanese name, heh.) Joey is baffled as to why Yugi would do such a thing, when he could have stayed quiet and avoided getting hurt. After leaving Yugi coughing on the ground, Ushio warns Yugi to bring the money tomorrow and says he'll use his knife next time. That night, Yugi worries about paying Ushio, and absentmindedly works on his Millennium Puzzle. He then notices that it is much easier to solve than before. He ends up completing it and awakens the spirit of the King of Games from his 5,000 year old slumber. The spirit possesses Yugi and challenges Ushio to a Shadow Game. The next day, Yugi doesn't remember the night before, but is happy to have finally completed his puzzle. Down below is the dialogue when Yami Yugi challenges Ushio.Ushio: "I can't believe that Yugi called me out...! And to the school at midnight... Hn... Yugi...!!"
Yami Yugi: "Thanks for coming, Ushio..."
Ushio: "Well, I gotta hand it to you! I can tell you're going to be a good boy and give me the money like I asked. Don't like the weird costume... but that's okay! Hand it over now... The cash! The money! 200,000 yen!"
Yami Yugi: "It's right here... and I've raised it to 400,000..."
Ushio: "400,000 yen!"
Yami Yugi: "But this much money... It wouldn't be any fun to just hand it over...so... How about you play a game with me!"
Ushio: A game...?
Yami Yugi: "Right... Not just any game... A shadow game! How about it? If you win, you get more than 200,000 yen! Not bad, huh?"
Ushio: "Interesting..."
Yami Yugi: "We need just one tool to play this game. That knife you've got hidden, Ushio! Okay. Everything's prepared!"
Ushio: "Money and a knife...?! What game can we play with these....."
Yami Yugi: "I'll explain the rules! The players take turns putting the money on top of their hands and stabbing it with the knife. The player keeps only the money that the knife stabs. And he must always take more than one bill. The game continues until the last bill is gone! The challenge is to take as much money as possible. If a player tries to take the money by hand, or quit the game in the middle, he loses and forfeits all of his money to the opponent. Doesn't that sound interesting?"
Ushio: "Heh...heh heh... Huh! It's just a test of courage..." I-is this really Yugi...?!
Yami Yugi: "But if you break the rules, as punishment the penalty game decides your fate!"
Ushio: "Heh heh... Interesting... Let's get started then!"
Yami Yugi: "We'll ro-sham-bo for it... Paper!" (rock, paper, scissors)
Ushio: "Rock!"
Yami Yugi: "Then I'll start."
Ushio: "D-d@mn."
*SSSSHUK*
Yami Yugi: "Phew! I didn't even get ten bills... I thought I'd put my strength in it, but they're not that easy to stab... Okay. Your turn!"
*Ushio hesitates to stabs bills on his hand*
Yami Yugi: "If you use too much strength you'll stab yourself. The point of this game is to control your greed!"
Ushio: "Shut your trap!"
*SHUK*
Ushio: "Heh... heh heh... Look! Over 100,000 yen!! And not a mark on my hand! I should have stabbed harder!"
Yami Yugi: "Not bad! But it gets harder to control your strength with each turn. Heh heh heh..."
*SHUK*
Yami Yugi: "There's not a lot of money left... The game is almost over!"
Ushio: "There's nothing to this game! The rest of this money is mine! Heh heh... Hn... Ah... Ah... Ahh... What's wrong... I'm using too much strength! M- my arm... I can't relax my right arm...!?? My right arm isn't listening to my brain!" This is bad...! My right arm is trying to swing down with all its strength!! I'm aiming for the money and my left hand together!! "Ah... Ahh..."
Yami Yugi: In the shadow games, a person's true nature is revealed to decide their fate!! Ushio! Your right arm is controlled by your own greed. You can no longer stop it. What will you do? Will you sacrifice your left hand to get the money, or...
Ushio: Heh heh heh heh... The answer is simple! There is a way I can take a stab, without hurting my left hand and getting the money!! "You let me hold this knife!! That's why you lose!! Die, Yugi!!
*Ushio goes to stab Yami Yugi in the face, however, expecting this action, Yami jumps back out of the way with a wild grin*
Yami Yugi: "Just as I thought. You weren't able to follow the rules after all!"
Ushio: "W-what the...? His forehead... that eye...!"
Yami Yugi: "This is only seen by those who 'trespass in my soul!' Like those who hurt my friends and try to steal my money!! PENALTY GAME!!! GREED, the Illusion of Avarice!
Ushio: "Ah...Ahh...Ah...Money... OH MY GOD! IT'S MONEY!! Money! Money! There's money everywhere!! This is great! Money!"
Yami Yugi: "They say that money can make your head spin, but...now the only thing in your head is the illusion of avarice!"
Ushio: "Yahoo! Money! It's all mine!"
Yami Yugi: "For as greedy as you are, this might be a happy end for you. Heh heh heh... And I've gotten all my money back...
Wow! There was more dialogue than I thought! Too bad you guys can't actually see what was going on. Oh well. I had a wicked good time coloring this. I mean, I seriously put all I had in this one. I also learned how to color metal and shiny leather! Seriously, I'm so stinkin proud of my buttons and those pants!!
