Description
Created in Sprite Something.Frame size: 50 x 50 (Sprite itself is 46 x 36)
Just downloaded an app called Sprite Something. It's amazing!! I've been wanting to make sprite animations for a VERY long time, but I always have problems finding programs to do such things. (that, and I prefer the simplicity and mobility of my iPad. Hence why I never learned to color my art until Procreate)
Anyway, since I'm now a baby sprite maker, I'm going to teach myself like how I learned to draw. Mimic! (and obviously with Pokemon...)
Although I mimicked/referenced an original Shinx sprite, I did build the thing from scratch. (goodness, I hope I don't kill my eyes counting pixels!!) Also, I'm pretty sure my colors don't match... (but you can't tell)
Hope you guy's like it! (I think I'll break my unspoken rule of only using Jestloo as my icon for a short while...)
(Oh. I guess if people would like to use this, please ask first. Then be sure to give me credit. thank you.) EDIT: Pfft! It's 2 KB over, so it can't be used as an icon...

Although, I can't take full credit. Only the animation is mine. I based the sprite after its in-game look.

I saw this in my email yesterday, and I was thinking, "Oh cool!" Pretty neat there.
I take issue with the use of the word "simplicity" in describing your iPad. Nothing made by Apple is simple.
Don't tell me you have to count pixels to make a sprite or animated .gif!? That's insane if you do! You should see if there's a program that counts the pixels for you.

Lol. Except iPads and iPods. Normal computers give me such trouble! XD
(I think it's the "hands on" feel of the iPad vs. the computer for me. Don't know, just feels natural)

If I want to do it right. (Mimicking wise) Actually, there is a grid that makes it insanely better. (I wish I could apply it to the sprite I'm looking to mimic though...)

I disagree! I tried valiantly, in an hours long struggle, to load music to my mother in-law's iPad, but all efforts were in vain. And the program interface? Ha! I built a few computers (PC's) so I'm comfortable with them. But, all that said, if it feels natural for you, then I can't argue that. There are some things for which, that is the governing factor.
Oh good, I'm so glad there's a grid. I was thinking of trying to find a way to expand the thing so it would be easier. Windows Paint has a zoom function that I've used when working with small stuff. (Wonder if I should show it here? Simple diagrams)

It's so cute! Pixel sprites seem to fit right in with your style, since they're cute and tiny lol.
Sprite Something sounds like a really cool app. Hm ... I try to avoid apps that you need to pay for, but this one sounds totally worth it. So much easier than turning on the computer to make such a tiny thing!

I usually avoid paying for apps too, but seeing the reviews from game programmers convinced me otherwise. (I mean, they probably know best)

I use Photoshop Elements 8, the same thing I use for 95% of everything i do thats digital haha. It works -- has a pixel brush and animation capabilities -- but it's a bit complicated for pixel work. It's a program that's obviously designed for bigger, more complex projects, and besides, it's annoying to have to get on the main desktop for it. |D

True, and I've never really done it on anything else. (Did try on my 3DS long ago, but...well) So, it's probably easier for me to pick up. You know how learning a different means to perform a task you've done before can feel.
