This is a picture I made for the Secret Santa X9 Gift Art thread last Christmas.This one is pretty cool, because I did the drawing and coloring of the character (Axl) by hand using traditional media, then just cleaned it up a bit in Photoshop Elements. Saved me a lot of time!

There just truly isn't enough words I can think of right now that describes the sheer awesomeness in this piece. Amazing work once again. And I also like how you have the wires and other workings exposed on the upper part of his body. It gives it a mysterious and dark feel to it.

Since Axl is a rather light-hearted character (at least that's the way I've always thought of him) I tried to make him look more serious here just to see if I could. I like what the product of the plan was.
I think the pose and "bullet holes" in the background helps too. Thank you for your kind words.

Since playing MegaMan X: Command Mission, I've grown very fond of Axl. He seemed so cute and kiddish, but at the same time, so brave and ready to do his duty as a Maverick Hunter. I sure hope they'll elaborate a bit more on him sometime in the future. I feel like there's a lot of secrets surrounding Axl that have yet to be uncovered.

Yeah, every once in a while I like to show my enthusiasm for detail.I like the chance to draw all the little nitty gritty mechanics, as long as the whole illustration isn't filled with them. Then that just get's exhausting.

Agreed! He has a lot of untapped potential. I think there is a lot to him yet unexplored that is just waiting to be revealed in his storyline. Darker images like this kind of tells a tale of what he's really like and where he may have been.
