Description
This is my second of 4 pieces for the Art Jam. The Iron Grenadier Trainer, Rowdy Roddy Piper is hand-drawn and inked and colored in Photoshop. If anyone wants the lineart of this for coloring, note me and I will send you the file. I only ask you credit me and link your piece back to me. And hey, let me see the piece! I love other peoples' takes on my work.
I couldn't help but giggle when Roddy Piper was inducted into COBRA for the 25th Anniversary at Joecon and he had his limited figure released as the Iron Grenadier Trainer as a balance to Sgt. Slaughter being with the Joes. He was a requested addition to the Art Jam list by me along with a Red Shadow. I also took Xamot and Major Bludd from the established list. Xamot, of course, is already in my gallery.
I have sort of an admiration for Piper. The man has battled cancer and bounced back. He also plays a good villain and was just perfect to addition to COBRA, especially with his Scottish claims, which made it easy to tie him to Destro. Now if they do a special GI Joe movie featuring him square off against Sgt. Slaughter...I'd buy that just for the pure s&g factor!
Anywho, hope you guys enjoy this piece! The other two will come soon.

Roddy vs. Slaughter in the GI Joe arena? I'm on board, hell yes! Animation is the best way, though, since Roddy's had several hip surgeries and hasn't moved well in the ring. He sticks to what he always did the best--stir the pot and screw over the face and heel alike. I love Piper's work in the old school WWF and in They Live: "I came here to chew bubblegum and to kick ass. And I'm all out of bubblegum!" Nice tribute.

Awesome! I had no idea he joined the Joes! I guess at this point, they are an actual chared universe. This means we could see Bret the Hitman and Jim The Anvil!! Hillbilly Jim? Andre the Giant? Awesome!

That would be so awesome, lol. I could see Bret Harte saying yes to Hasbro w/o hesitation. That would so own. I always loved Bret. I know I'm American, but most of my fave wrestlers were Canadian, lol.

I wish, but it won't happen because he was a limited run Joecon exclusive and on top of that , 25th anniversary. I have half a mind to customize my own.
