Description
Another WoW portrait! This time for my guild's GM - an orc warrior. I feel like I say this about every picture I do, but this one was definitely the hardest so far, haha. I don't consider myself to be good at portraying masculine characters. I also don't think I'm good at painting inorganic, rugged things like armor and weapons. I did my best though.Once again here is a little animated gif of the steps:

I can not tell at all that muscle/armor is difficult for you at all, because you pulled this off really well!! That ax is bitchin'! ..As far as the dynamics go on this - I agree with you that with an armor like this...this pose is really all you can do with something so bulky! >_< Ah, but that is IMO.

I think you did a pretty good job with the electric glow on the Axe. Plus the "molten" rocky effect on the axe blade is pretty cool. It's not as glowy as it is in the game, but it's ok.
As for the pose, I don't think its the best one in the world. Did you use screenshots as a reference for the image? I'm sure one of the standing or in-action poses would have kicked the image up a notch.
But I agree, always great to see your work!

Yeah, I agree that the pose isn't exciting or anything. Unfortunately the warrior T6 shoulders don't allow for much movement so I had to go with a more static position. In WoW the shoulders just magically whoosh through the players head but you can't really do something like that in a portrait, haha
