Description First in the series to show an embrace. I don't want to describe in detail what the concept is in entirely. I'll leave that to you

This one took best of show in an exhibition. Amazingly, my Mother of all people, grabbed this one and hung it on her family room wall.....

All of these are endlessly appealing, and I would want one in my living room, for sure. You must have absorbed a lot of the best of art-deco sensibilites. This looks like the 1930's. Is that an imitation of neon lights there? Good show! Very memorable. The gestures can be understood so well. One thing that is cool about this style is that the viewer may not pay any attention to it at first, but the reality of it will seep into their mind little by little.

This is the one that took Best of show in an exhibiton a few years back. I did a couple of new things on this one. First off, the concept, is actually two couples with one couple represented as cheating on the other. You will see the couples are back to back, but the man and the woman representation are reaching behind their backs to each other (I normally don't explain these things...but that was where I was going).

As far as the painting technique, This was my first abstract attempt on the multi layer style I worked with some years ago. The painting is on two layers of plexiglass. The layers, when mounted, are separated by about a quarter inch. On the top layer, I put silver paint into a cake decorator bag thing and squeezed thick lines of silver paint trying to complement the lines below. What is cool about this, is when the lighting is right, these thick lines cast a shadow on to the bottom layer that adds something new and changeable to the piece. Depending on how you stand and how the light is placed, the painting is always different.

That's very interesting. What a cool study. The abstact in a multi-layer image. It's really quite a thrill to be introduced to it.
