This is a painting of Katniss Everdeen played by Jennifer Lawrence from the second instalment of the Hunger Games Trilogy film/book called βCatching Fireβ (not released till Nov 2013). I apologise if the details of her costume or equipment is not accurate as this is not a promo or a screen shot off the trailer and is not available on the internet.Photoshop CS5 and Wacom Bamboo, here are the early stages of the painting

I'm not really that big on The Hunger Games, but I do like Jennifer Lawrence. You captured her likeness perfectly, but why should that be a surprise? You're brilliant at likenesses. I wouldn't be surprised if you wound up drawing movie posters like they used to back in the day.

Oh! And another thing I noticed and found a bit odd... The bowstring is drawn? But the string hand isn't holding the arrow...I'm not very familiar with archery (hell, I haven't even seen a real bow up close)...but can an arrow really be nocked that way and held with the bow hand without accidental discharge?
I'm sorry...this is such a beautiful painting and I shouldn't be nitpicking!!!

She's holding the down the arrow but there isn't too much tension there, or is there? mind you I can change that as the arrow is on a separate layer as well as the string

I have a very 'light' way of painting skin and use a lot of skin tones then lightly blend then softly, to achieve the realism effect. I will be doing tutorials very soon on painting skin, the eyes and every one's favourite the hair
