Description Pale Man, from Guillermo del Toro's Pan's Labyrinth (El Laberinto del Fauno).

LOTS of fun coloring this one. BLOOD. And that creepy, sallow, saggy-skinned, baby-eating monster, Pale Man. Hurray!

Edit: Devourer of Children was awarded a Mini-DD by *SlyDante [link] Thank you so much!

-gasp- It's the Baby-eater!! @o@
The blood looks very nice and realistic. And the halo around his head makes him look like some sorta monster-angel, or maybe angel of death. <3's to Mr. Doug Jones who brought both of them to life.

Thank you! Yes, indeed, 'tis the baby-eater we all know and love.

I had fun with the blood - I'm glad you think it turned out well. I am absolutely in love with Doug Jones' incredible talent! <3

I love this guy. I was impressed by that scene in the film: how the creature was just slumped over with his eyes on a plate. Eyes on hands = genius

JillianLambertArt In reply to MalteseLizzieMcGee [2008-07-03 17:39:52 +0000 UTC]

Oh yes, the eye-hands are just amazing! The scene with Pale Man is one of the most arresting in the entire film, and certainly the most bizarre. I couldn't get enough of it.

I think I liked the faun's design the best: all those spirals and the cool colours: I'm a sucker for stuff like that.

JillianLambertArt In reply to MalteseLizzieMcGee [2008-07-10 06:18:50 +0000 UTC]

The faun's design is stunningly beautiful. He looks so... natural, and all the same, he is ethereal. My admiration for Doug Jones exploded after seeing his performances as the faun and the Pale Man.

MalteseLizzieMcGee In reply to JillianLambertArt [2008-07-10 06:38:49 +0000 UTC]

Was he using stilts in his faun performance? I think that's the only way to get the leg shape right, unless the legs were done digitally

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

JillianLambertArt In reply to MalteseLizzieMcGee [2008-07-10 07:18:53 +0000 UTC]

Jones actually controlled the faun's legs with his own legs, but they were digitally erased thanks to a green casing he wore to make them "invisible." The faun's legs were crafted as part of Jones' makeup - something I found absolutely fascinating.
