@myhorsehaswings: I think some people with animals just automatically call all animals by "he/him" it's natural I guess.
Jill, the lighting is beautiful. Great idea to add it to black background to create more dramatic feel. Some of the "fly aways" on the crest of the mane bug me slightly, but that may be just me. I know it's hard to edit the whispy hairs and whiskers on horses

This is probably THE dumbest question.. but in photos like this, with the black BG, do you edit out the BG? I am guessing so.. haha.
