Description
On a classic binge of wild desecrations of established aircraft designs, Professor Anton Veeblefitzer, world renowned Scientist-Of-Aviation-Arts-Mutators-Of (SOAAMO [pronounced "So-ah-mo" {please repeat that over and over, until you can't repeat it anymore!}), took the famous, and efficient Curtiss BF2C Goshawk USN, and export, fighter, and went horribly maniacal with it.The casualties include a racing plane named "23 Skidoo", which won a few races and drew interest from the War Dept.
Tested on the aircraft carrier USS Langley, the pilot exploded: "Forget this plane! You can't see worth a darn over that long fuselage!"
PAV sawed off the landing gear arresting hook, sanded off the USN letters, and offered the "Tyrannohawk", as he now titled it, to the US Army Air Corp. Here the "T-H", or "WTH (What-the-Hell)", as it was labeled, was greeted with: "Yeah! Fast as hell! But you still can't see worth a darn on takeoff and landing!".
For some odd reason, the new Soviet Union' war department seemed interested in PAV's design, but wanted some changes, such as improved forward vision, and heavier firepower.
PAV obliged the "commie bastards", as he put them, by increasing the height of the aft fuselage and housing 4 X .50 cal machine guns in the dome preceding the cockpit.
Well. . . ., because Smirnoff Vodka had helped to sponsor PAV's experiment , the Russian government cancelled the deal, when they saw the Smirnoff emblem on the machine. "The Smirnoff's are counter-revolutionaries!" Declared Joe Stalin, as he attempted to liquidate PAV, and his sales rep'.
Cramming himself, and his sales rep', a young Ronald Reagan ("Cool kid! Will go far in Hollywood!" - PAV) into the "Stalin Skin Flute", as it was dubbed, for this particular sales effort, PAV and friend escaped to England.
Upon arrival at Heathrow Airport, PAV and Ronnie, hurriedly scrapped off the Russian markings, and replaced them with British RAF markings, clumsily applied (It's RAF, not ARF, you idiot!), and offered the machine to the British Gov't.
They fell in love with it!!!!
And PAV mutated it a bit more, with 4 X 20 mm cannon, and sold the design to the British Air Ministry for 750,000 Pounds!!!
. . . . ., now, how's that for a fantasy! - PAV
