Description
A classic late war design, designed to supplement the Luftwaffe ground attack aircraft of the time.
Composed mostly of wood and cheap steel framing, the Ve-673 was powered by two Junker Jumo 350 turbojet engines, which could push the machine to speeds exceeding 500 mph. And these were good engines! Only well tempered "Samurai Steel" was used, with lubrication provided by Veeblefitzer Graphene Oil (VGO)
Armament was two 35 mm Reinphrter auto rifles, with 100 rpg.
Also, a variety of rockets and bombs, fuel cells, could be carried underwing.
The pilot was protected within a steel cockpit tub. Fuel cells were self sealing.
Combat was exciting! The average height in combat was between 20 and 100 feet. Pilots strafed troops and tanks and unleashed rockets and armor piercing bombs. They could whip into a battlefield, hit their targets, and begone before a response could be mustered.
The landing gear was miniscule. Tiny fixed wheels supported the engines and wing, while a simple retracting nose wheel supported the fuselage. Because the veeb was so light, after a mission, that it could easily glide in for a safe landing on mildly rough terrain.
The "Atchyah", as it was affectionately referred to, was instrumental in holding back the evil BCE and its efforts to rule the world.
