Description   Professor Anton Veeblefitzer, that
astonishing deviated prevert of an
aircraft designing genius, with his team
of reprobate-rebellious student engineers,
decided to "gob-smack" (as the goofy Brits
would say) the anal-retentive purchasing agents
of the Imperial Japanese Navy, in this weird alt'
universe of the "War In The Pacific" (See the map
de've buried in my gallery, for that story), by mating
the Aichi D3Y "Val" dive bomber with the Junker Ju-87
"Stuka" dive bomber.
The "our universe" D3A (allied code-name "Val") carrier-
based dive bomber was powered with 1,300hp radial air cooled
engine, and the Ju-87 "Stuka" was powered with a 1,400 liquid
cooled inline engine.
PAV sliced, diced, bolted, welded, the German Jumo 211 engine
onto the nose of the Val and created the Frankenstein-ish
Veeblefitzer-Aichi-Junkers VAJ-D33A "Stukaval" hybrid dive bomber
for the Imperial Japanese Navy, in mid 1942, in this odd universe'
timeline.
The narrower profile of the nose of this odd marriage-of-machines,
plus the added horsepower, created the conditions where the Stukaval
was able to, unloaded, outfly the original radial engine Val.
The original Val could achieve a maximum speed of 270mph, but the new
Stukaval could just top 302mph, putting it on the par with enemy fighters in the
early war years in this crazy alt' universe.
The original Val was armed with 3 X 7.7mm machine guns, and normally carried
a single 550lmb bomb.
PAV's conversion, however, was armed with 3 X 10mm medium machine guns, two
in the upper fuselage forward deck, and one for rear defense, and two 20mm Ho-5 cannon,
with 120rpg, one, each, mounted in the wing.
PAV designed a new death-ship bomb that was 1,250lmbs, which was armor-piercing, with a
.50 second delay fuse, which allowed the weapon to bury itself into an enemy ship, then detonating,
with devastating results.
Pictured is the mount of Lt Ichiban Obiwan Kanobisan (pilot, on the right) and his trusty radio operator
and defensive gunner Ensign Arigato Sushi (on the left) , during the brutal "Battle of Komodo Island" in
late 1942, or early 1943 (hey...! Whenever) in PAV's wild imaginative alt' universe.
Note the ship-victory mark profiles, and the aircraft victory marks on the tail.
