Another twisted design from the mad mind of Prof. Anton Veeblefitzer.
On the left, is "our" universe' Aichi D3Y1 Val dive bomber of the Japanese Navy in WW2.
Motor-output was over 1,000 hp, pulling the craft to speeds up to 270 mph.
Armament was 3 x 7.7 mm mg's with two weapons mounted on the fuselage just ahead of the cockpit, and rear facing gun. Bomb load was fuselage mounted 1 x 550 lb bomb with wing mounted two 130 lb bombs
Landing gear was fixed.
On the right is PAV's mutation of the Val.
The biggest difference is that PAV's Val has retracting landing gear.
The motor was a 3,000 hp triple row monster radial thing!
Max' speed, unloaded, was 370 mph!
Armament was 2 x 7.7 mm mg's forward-fuselage mounted, with 4 x 20 mm cannon mounted in the wings. Bomb load, usually, was a single fuselage mounted 1,100 lb along with 6 x 250 lb wing mounted bombs. Aft defensive armament was a single belt-fed 10 mm medium mg in a simple rotating turret.
The new Ve-Ai D3Y1 Shiden-Kai was the AD SkyRaider for the times.
