Description
A simple guide for isolating and masking shapes. If there's something unclear or strange in it just let me know. You can also come and chat with me. [link]UPDATED!!! I thank Gerda1946 [link] for bringing this to my attention. It's a minor change. I've said in a spot that a node should be moved all the way to the right when the image in the tutorial shows it to the left. But don't worry. The tutorial should work anyway. I think people haven't got a problem with this because I haven't gotten any notes about not working. But as picky as I am with details I cannot let this minor error be, so I corrected my little mistake.

They sound the same for English speaking people, but the difference is very big.

The texture:
Click Add layer two times
On the top layer click Formula tab in Layer Prop & choose Browse
Select Pixel formula in Standard
Select Outside tab & Browse. Find S.F.B.M. II in sam.ucl
Set Color Density to 16
Open gradient for this layer and delete all the Opacity nodes
Ok I’m using UF 4.04 and the Pixel formula wasn’t in the Standard list but did find it in mt.ufm list so I used the pixel formula from there
After doing the last step of deleting all of the nodes the layer is a blank white space no black & white cloud looking anything.
Just thought I’d let ya know – and thanks for the tut as this gives me something to experiment with until something works with a texture look in it – most appreciated

The tut is made from UF5. The pixel formula is then located in Standard.ufm. But great that you found another one. About deleteing all nodes.
In the gradient editor you must make sure that the opacity and color are not linked. If they are the color nodes will also disappear when you delete the opacity nodes. There's a guide in there how to turn 'Link color and opacity' off.

Yup I had the link off and had those results.
Thanks I'll keep experimenting
