Description Hey everyone and welcome to another one of my custom action figure tutorials! This week we'll be taking my own step-by-step approach on painting worn battle armor and working with metallics. You can find tons of other painting/metallic tutorials out there, especially on a lot of the custom and Gundam forums I have listed on my Links page. That being said this guide covers only the specific steps and techniques I personally use, so please treat it as a set of guidelines only. The demo custom is my 6" Marvel Legends scale Fallout 3 Power Suit. You may remember I made a Sigma 6 scale one that was 8", and most of the same techniques I used there are applied to this guide.

We'll be using Testors Acryl paints and Games Workshop paints for this guide. You can find them at most hobby/gaming stores or purchase them online. The main paints used are Testors paints: Gunmetal, Flat Black, Flat White, Dark Gray, and clear blue. Also Games Workshop metallic paints: Mithril Silver, 'Ardcoat (their clear gloss), and Tin Bitz.

great peice of work. its almost like the power armor from fallout 3 execpt for 3 differences: 1. the eyeslits on the in game (and box art) is more goggle-like and not separated. 2. the helmet is a tad bit too rounded towards where the helmet meets the neck. its mors bucket-like in game (box art too). 3. and the chest plate is round and short where it should be square with sloping sides (except for the side closest to the neck).

all in all it still rocks.

Tin Bitz is a color from the Games Workshop line of acrylic paint. See his Artist comments above.
