They both look a little taller than they are in the source material, but quite lovely. (Watching that scene I couldn't help but think, "Kyon, whether or not you actually love her, how can you pass up the chance to put your arms around a girl who looks like that?") Beautiful linework, great relaxed poses, and those cute weary faces. Great work on Haruhi's torso; I always appreciate it when breasts look healthy, natural, and proportionate to the rest of the woman's body. Great choice of summer clothes for her, too.

Thank you very much! Yeah, I think I should have used less "heads" when measuring out the bodies for this one...
Of the three "Endless Eight" drawings I did this year, this one was definitely the most rushed, so it means a lot to hear all the things you liked about it
Something I noticed on a watching of this arc is that when Koizumi says "Alright, should I give it a try?" it never shows Kyon's face immediately afterward... I really like the effect that that gives to the scene. I still have the BGM stuck in my head lol
I'm not certain exactly what I'm going to do, but I think I might be revisiting this one in a little while! Maybe it'll get the color treatment too

Yeah, I noticed that about that scene too. That's the great thing about the series: It calls on the viewer to think and draw conclusions rather than just passively watch. Interestingly enough, it basically recreates the way the light novel does that scene. In the light novel, after Koizumi says that, the narrative says something like "I can't see my face right now."
It's rushed, maybe, but it's definitely charming and shows you have good chops.

Exactly! The way it draws the viewer in in that exact way is one of the major reasons it's been my favourite for all these years, and why I watch through it again every year. I remember being so enthralled in the world when I first stumbled on the series almost a decade ago, and it still has me to this day.
