That's just me being uncertain that I got the southern border correct. I was trying to get the German Austria requested border, but I don't think I got it as correct as I could have.

Maybe if Germany kept some of the land it had captured in WW2 or 1?

Something like that. This version of Germany came about something like this:
-Prussia kept South Prussia and New East Prussia after the Napoleonic Wars
-Germany may have centralized a bit earlier, and most likely had Frederick III earlier and longer, and Henry, not Wilhelm II was the successor, liberalizing the society and economy.
-Austria didn't drag this Germany into WW1 with its alliance. France did declare war to try to regain Alsace-Lorraine though, which was recognized by the UK.
-France has the "stab in the back" myth when the UK recognizes this and refuses the annexation of A-L by France. Germany bears only incidental blame for the war in recognition of its entry into the war, and it's attempts to get the UK to intervene on its behalf. Germany pays only a few million Marks in damaged, and Austria-Hungary bears the brunt, along with the Ottomans
-German Austria is formed in the debris of Austria-Hungary, with its requested lands, including a little more Burgenland.
-France descends into anarchy and falls into an extremist regime behind a demagogue, and causes WW2.
-Turkey is partitioned with Greater Armenia and Greater Greece (with Constantinople as its capital)
-After WW2, Belfort and Briey are added to Germany, along with Guadeloupe and Martinique going to the US; Reunion and a few other islands go to Germany, which kept its other colonies, now getting a postwar boom of settlers.
-This Germany annexed Austria after WW1 or 2 peacefully
That's my rough concept timeline, but you can imagine however you wish.
