It's always fun and interesting to see concept arts prototype design of characters to see how they could had looked like...
That design looks VERY cute, but she wouldn't had really fit with Animal Crossing's style.

Probably because of the glasses and buck teeth. Judging from the artwork, it looks like at one point, they weren’t gonna make her a dog at all.
