Description Comet’s make large orbits around the solar system and usually avoid planets, but in July 1994 we got to see first hand, a comet that had been torn to pieces by the gravitational forces of Jupiter. The pieces of the comet were on a collision course with the gas giant and we watched as they made their impact.

This image represents my idea of what could happen if an event like that occurred to a different planet.

Alien 1: Whoops.
Alien 2: What happened?
Alien 1: I kinda miscalculated the tragectory of the gravitational beam, and as a result the comet kinda-
Alien 2: You broke another planet, didn't you?
Alien 1: ...yep.
Alien 2: Next time, I'm doing the calculations, you just sit there and look genetically acceptable.

This looks nice!

I've got a few issues with it though.

The ring shouldn't bend with the comet, it should be "shattering" apart.

And there are some funky-looking parts of the ring that you need to fix around the edges.

And the sun/light source is off to the right correct?

I've been waiting for someone to say something like that, lol! This is the first image I ever made, let alone space image. I've never done any type of art before this so I was happy with it and now I keep it around as sort of a way for me to look back and see where I've been. Thank you for you're honest response, I always apriciate them, even when they aren't what I was hoping for. It's the only way to get better.

None the less you only have to tweak a few things to make it an EPIC first image!

Well thank you! Maybe at some point I'll make some of those changes.

No kidding! Imagine the people living on the side that didn't get whacked: BOOM! Earthquake! Heat! What's going on???

Awesome pic, by the way.

They may say : The end is close. Yet, it's not 2012...What's happening ?
